Killarney 17th May 2014

Welcome to the Lakes of Killarney Marathon. This will be the first full marathon to be held in Killarney since 1964. The Lakes Of Killarney Marathon is your chance to take part in either a full or half marathon run within the stunning Killarney National Park for a very competitive entry fee. The race will be run with the full co-operation of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Killarney Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Killarney Town Council and Killarney Gardai. Our event partner for accommodation is the Castlerosse Hotel which is the location for the race start, lap end and race finish.

There are a choice of two options to take part beginning with the full marathon which comprises of 3 laps of a circuit  within the grounds of the Knockreer Demesne and Ross Island with three ascents of the legendary Knockreer Hill. For the less adventurous there is also a half marathon which will take in one and a half laps of the same circuit with only one ascent of Knockreer Hill.

This is your chance to take part in the first running of what is sure to become a legendary marathon in the beautiful surroundings of Killarney. Entry is now open but hurry up as places  for 2013 are limited to 300. The entry fee is unbeatable value at €35 for the full marathon, €25 for the half marathon. For this you will receive a bespoke finisher’s medal, a custom technical t-shirt, professional timing, a certified course under Athletics Ireland rules, water/ hydration/ food stops every 3km, race pacers, a well marked out course with lots of stewards and post race refreshments at the finish line. Checkout our FAQ page for any queries you may have.
